Denfert-Rochereau is a neighborhood and a station on line 4 and line 6 of the Paris Métro in the 14th arrondissement. It is named after the General Pierre Philippe Denfert-Rochereau who defended the city during the Franco-Prussian War and prevented the enemy from entering Paris. The station is located at the Place Denfert-Rochereau, which is also home to the entrance of the famous Catacombs of Paris. The place is often a busy hub for transportation with buses and RER B trains. It is also surrounded by shops, restaurants, and cafes, making it a popular destination for both locals and tourists.
